How to Get Started

stage 01

Provide your basic details to create an account. You will be contacted by our team within 2 working days Ensure you provide accurate details in order to be contactable.

stage 02

Phone interview

An initial discussion on your understanding of the role with a suitability check and an assessment of your level of English.

stage 03

Training and Documentation

Provide the proof for your personal details & educational qualifications. Once you start uploading the documents you can begin the online training program & assessments which takes less than 17 hours.

stage 04

Join the Tutoring Community and setting up

When you join the Tutor community we will start the process of getting UK and/or USA clearance for you to be able to Tutor. Then you begin your journey as an online Maths Tutor.

What Tutoring Programs Does TSG Provide?

What is the role of an online maths Tutor at TSG?

To deliver high-quality one-on-one tutoring sessions to pupils using our online classroom. Our tutors are expected to take ownership of the pupil's progress throughout their session and for an assigned duration of approximately 12 weeks and ensure a secure and effective learning experience.

What are the minimum requirements and qualifications needed to become an online maths tutor?

Age between 18 - 55.
Residing in Sri Lanka or India.
A valid personal identification document in English, such as a NIC/Aadhaar Card, Passport, or Driving License.
A bank account under your name in your residing country or a willing to open one.
Good spoken English and the ability to converse confidently.
An undergraduate/graduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths, and/or Education-related field.

*IMPORTANT : All details are validated and therefore you are required to have documentation proof.

What are the technical requirements and devices I need as a tutor?

Fully functional laptop with minimum 120 GB storage, 8GB RAM, Intel i3 6th Gen processor or higher running Windows 8. Mac OS High Serra or Ubuntu Trusty Tahr.
Reliable network connection (approximately 100 - 150 MB per session).
Noise-cancelling headset with USB port and Mute button.
Controlled and noise-free work environment to ensure minimum disturbances.

What is the type of contract and how am I assigned work?

At TSG, we provide a 'work on-demand contract.' This means that the work is assigned and confirmed based on the demand that we get from schools. Therefore you will be paid only for the hours you tutor.

Our contracts are indefinite, offering stability and freedom to continuously keep working with us.

What are the available work hours and how am I assigned work?

As we work directly with Schools, our work is primarily on weekdays. With you providing the hours a week (availability) you would like to work with us. We highly recommend offering maximum availability after 5:00 PM where there is a the highest demand for sessions from our schools.

Working hours

UK : 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST
US : 5.00 PM to 6.30 AM IST

How long is a session?

In a typical UK session, whether for primary or secondary students, the tutoring duration is 45 minutes. This timeframe includes not only the session itself but also the necessary preparation before the session and a post-review to ensure effectiveness. Tutors are expected to allocate approximately an hour for prep and post session completion tasks.
